Below Karen shares a poem about yoga on a chair along with some seated postures to try at home.
When I think of yoga on a chair
What springs to mind is adding flair
Poses where we can include a block
This can help with strength a lot
Coming to balance into tree
Your foot on a block is good with me
We can fold forward with ease
Make it harder the block we squeeze
In downward dog we get to choose
The intent and purpose we won’t lose
Therefore seated upon the chair
Legs tense, arms pushing in the air
The chair placement under hands
To support us when we decide to stand
Accessibility here is always key
When we shift into warrior three
So let’s take time to explore
Chair yoga will leave you wanting more
Balance a block on the palm of hand
Rotation with block
Tree pose with foot on block
Forward fold with block
Seated Downward facing dog
