Recommended poses to reduce back pain
While there is no universal trick or yoga pose to cure back pain, there are a few accessible yoga poses that almost anyone can do. Remember to always consult with your doctor or professional before adding or removing any exercises in your daily routines. These are the poses that have helped me the most in times when I’m experiencing back pain.
1. Legs Up The Wall: Adding a bolster under the hips in this pose created a gentle back bend which opens the chest & ribs to create a more relaxed breath. It can help lower the heart rate which in turn relaxes the body.
2. Child’s Pose: Supporting your upper body on a bolster will decrease the deep knee bend require for this pose. It allows the body to relax and release all the muscles around the spine and back body. You can add blocks under the bolster to give you even more lift!
3. Supported Savasana: Lying flat on your back can be difficult for many of us. Adding a bolster under the knees softens the arch in the low back making savasana more accessible.
