Meditations can be moving. If being still isn’t for you, try a mindful-moving meditation. Meditating is simply about being in the moment, just as you are. You can be still, moving, seated, standing, or lying down. You might choose to focus on your breath, the ground beneath you, or perhaps the sounds going on around you. Whatever feels right for you.
Grounding is a way of connecting to the earth and finding an anchor of stability. In this sample grounding moving meditation, you can subtly connect to earth to support regulation and calm anxiety.
If you’re anxious and stressed, know that you are not alone. And grounding moving meditations could be a practice that supports you to feel calmer, reduce racing thoughts and feel more in the moment.
To practice, you’ll need a non-slippery surface and comfortable clothes you can easily breathe and move in.
